Please Pray for KIT

Prayer is essential to the KIT process, both for the success and growth of the KIT Ministry and for those involved in this ministry but, even more importantly, for those non church-going Catholics who live in our midst, that they may realise by the power of our prayer how much they are missed and how much we long to welcome them back.

YOU are therefore invited to join the growing number of Prayer Sponsors who pray the KIT Prayer daily.

The KIT Prayer is not only meant for our non church-going family, it also reminds all of us to put ourselves with all our vulnerabilities and limitations into God's hands.

Pope Francis' Prayer

Let the risen Jesus enter your life,
welcome him as a friend,
with trust: he is life!
If up till now you have kept him at a distance,
step forward.  He will receive you with open arms.
If you have been indifferent, take a risk:
you won’t be disappointed.
If following him seems difficult, don’t be afraid,
trust him, be confident that he is close to you,
he is with you and he will give you the peace
you are looking for and the strength to live
as he would have you do.

The Stewardship Prayer

My Church is composed of people like me.
I help make it what it is.
It will be friendly if I am.
Its pews will be filled if I help fill them.
It will do great work if I work.

It will make generous gifts to many causes,
if I am a generous giver.
It will invite other people into
its worship and fellowship,
if I invite and bring them.

It will be a church of loyalty and love,
of fearlessness andf faith,
and a church with a noble spirit,
if I, who make it what it is,
am filled with these
same things.

Therefore with the help of God,
I shall dedicate myself
to the task of being all the things
that I want my church to be.

Carlo Caretto and the Church

How much I must criticise you my Church,
and yet how much I love you
You have made me suffer more than anyone,
yet I owe more to you than anyone
I should like to see you destroyed and yet I need your presence
You have given me much scandal and yet you alone have made me
understand holiness
Never in this world have I seen anything more compromised,
more false, and yet I have never touched anything more pure,
more generous or more beautiful
Countless times I have felt like slamming the door of my soul in your
face, and yet every night I have prayed that
I might die in your arms
No I cannot be free of you, for I am one with you,
even if not completely you
Then too where would I go?
To build another church?
But I could not build one without the same defects,
for they are my defects
And again, if I were to build another church it would be my church,
not Christ’s church
No, I am old enough. I know better

A prayer by Blessed Cardinal Henry Newman

May Christ support us all the day long
Till the shadows lengthen and the evening comes,
The busy world is hushed, the fervour of life is o'er,
And our work is done.
Then, in His mercy, may He give us
A safe harbour, a holy rest and peace at the last.

O Lady of Mental Peace, Mother of Tranquility and Mother of Hope,
look upon me in this time of my weakness and unrest.
Teach my searching heart to know that God’s Love for me is unchanging and unchangeable;
and, that true human love can only begin and grow by touching His Love.
Let your gentle peace which this world cannot give be always with me.
And, help me to bring this same Peace into the lives of others.
Our Lady of Mental Peace,
Pray for us.
